Therapy session

Yoga therapy is a holistic framework that addresses the entire human system. The therapy sessions that I offer are geared to balance and harmonise your Pancha Kosha—the five layers of your being. By looking beyond just the physical body, we work together to bring healing to your energy, mind, emotions, and spirit, creating a complete state of wellness.

While every Yoga session is tailored to you, here is a breakdown of what you can expect during a private yoga therapy session. Practices are curated individually; we will utilize only the specific modalities that match your current energy and health goals.

Intake & Holistic Assessment

  • Medical History: Reviewing physician diagnoses, current medications, surgeries, and daily lifestyle habits.

  • Yogic Diagnosis (Pancha Kosha): Evaluating the client across all five layers of existence.

  • Current State Check: Assessing the client's immediate physical pain and sicomfort, energy levels, and emotional state before starting any movement.

Warmup and Pranayama

  • Loosening Exercises (Sithila Karana Vyayama): Engaging in gentle, rhythmic movements to release joint stiffness and stimulate blood circulation without causing physical strain.

  • Parasympathetic Activation: Employing mindful breathwork to successfully transition clients from sympathetic stress to parasympathetic relaxation.

Integration & Home Protocol

  • Home Practice: Designing a realistic, high-impact daily routine consisting of 2–3 specific practices for the client to do independently.

  • Feedback & Goals: Discussing post-session sensations to continually refine the long-term, personalized therapeutic plan.

Centering

  • Establishing Focus: Introducing subtle sound vibrations or foundational breath awareness to quiet internal chatter and anchor presence.

Therapeutic Postures & Movements

  • Loosening Exercises (Sithila Karana Vyayama): Engaging in gentle, rhythmic movements to release joint stiffness and stimulate blood circulation without causing physical strain.

  • Modified Asanas: Selecting specific physical postures tailored to the client's unique pathology (e.g., supported extension for structural back pain).

Pranayama

  • Nervous System Regulation: Applying targeted breathing techniques to balance subtle energies (e.g., Nadi Shodhana for balance, Bhramari for anxiety management).

  • Breath Extension: Teaching the client how to comfortably lengthen their exhalations to safely activate the body's natural rest-and-digest healing response.

Deep Relaxation Technique (DRT/IRT/QRT)

  • Neuromuscular Release: Guiding the client through systematic, clinical relaxation protocols to release deep-seated muscular and mental tension.

  • Cellular Integration: Allowing the body to rest fully so the therapeutic benefits of the session can be integrated into the nervous system.
